Feeling the heat

Our homeowners bought us two heaters for the apartment that we didn't use at all last year, but this year we got one out and then the cats discovered them. Now as soon as it goes on, a cat appears before it and flakes out.

So funny! We have oil-filled radiators and our crazy cats stretch out on the floor with their bellies right up against the units. I'm always afraid one of them is going to burst into flames, but happily no cat combustion has occurred to date...

Juno likes to sleep right in front of my hot air vent in my bedroom. It's kinda funny. Boswell used to sleep right on top of the pellet stove at Jem & Shan's place. Cats go where there's the slightest hint of heat in this weather!

The kitten looks like she's asking, "Is it okay if I hog the heater?"

Of course, it only *looks* that way, since we both know that cats never have to ask permission to do anything...

It never fails, no matter how hot my little apartment gets, Anubis always curls up right beside the heater/vent thingies and has a look of contentment as he falls into a deep kitty slumber.

Red: it does look that way doesn't it? However, I think she's saying "could you keep it down I'm trying to relax."

Yes, no cat combustion is good. They seem to have an incredible heat tolerance.

One of my sister's cats, Mama, use to sit on the only vent in the living room and we were convinced it had an affect on the temperature of the house. Of course it probably didn't , but that room was certainly cooler as Mama absorbed all of the heat.
