I found out that as students, we have free access to the museums and gardens on campus. The Botanical Gardens seemed too far away being on the other side of campus, so I looked up the Nitobe Memorial Gardens and discovered that they were a short walk away.
What a beautiful oasis! And no one was there. There were maybe 3 or 4 people I saw during my whole visit. I walked into this gorgeous Japanese style garden and the sun was filtered through the trees.
There were several places to sit, and all of them seemed secluded. There's a tea house that is only open when they have a tea ceremony, but there was a bench built into the outside wall that will be a perfect place to sit in the rain when I go back during the winter. I'll make sure I see it through the seasons. I'm already looking forward to cherry blossom season in the spring.
Just one of the gems on this beautiful campus.
